Derringer Shots #3: Dallas Cowboys Stadium, NCAA Football Paper Championship, Isiah Thomas
Dallas Cowboys $1.15 BILLION Dollar BlunderThe Cowboys built a new $1.15 billion dollar stadium in Arlington, Texas. The stadium location is adjacent to Six Flags Over Texas and The Ballpark in Arlington. In addition to Cowboys games, the acclaimed new stadium will host the 2010 NBA All-Star Game, 2011 Super Bowl in 2011. 2014 Final Four and various other events.
But there is a huge problem. The grand video board hangs too low and punters are blasting balls off of the bottom of the board! File that under, 'Pathetic.'
2009 Paper Champion, Florida is college football's pre-season top ranked team
So? Who cares about who will be this year's paper champion? The NFL will have a undisputed champion at the end of the year, via the playoffs. College football's champion will once again be decided by eggheads, often biased and uninformed media and computers. Whatever else goes on the field will be happenstance. Viewers are wise to tune out those borish bowls and do anything else that has an ounce of personal productivity.
Isiah Thomas continues his idiocy
Thomas, head coach of Florida International University's first game if they play North Carolina and not Ohio State. Thomas had thought they would play Ohio State and not North Carolina. But a contract signed by FIU in November, 2008 allowed Gazelle Group to choose which team FIU would play.
Thomas boycotted on the grounds that the contract was signed by FIU before he was made coach. Will somebody please explain how contracts work. We know that Thomas thinks the world revolves around him, but we also know that is very far from reality.
The irony is that when Thomas thought they would play Ohio State, he said "If at some point and time you're going to be able to compete with the big boys, you might as well jump right into the fire and get started."Apparently, the fire that will come for the 2009 NCAA champion Tarheels is too hot.
