Atlanta Braves rookie outfielder Gregor Blanco tries 'chicken sh**' to no avail

Baseball has unwritten rules. One of those rules is you do not lay down a bunt to break up a no-hitter and definitely not a perfect game. Back during the Arizona Diamondbacks' 2001 championship season, Curt Schilling was five outs away from throwing a perfect game against the San Diego Padres. San Diego's Ben Davis put down a bunt single. After the game, the Diamondbacks manager called it "chicken sh**."

Last night, Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Hiroki Kuroda was throwing a perfect game going into the to the seventh inning. On the first pitch, rookie Atlanta Braves outfielder, Gregor Blanco, layed down a bunt down the third base line. Blake DeWitt was able to make a barehand play and beat Blanco by a step.

Mark Texiera ended up with the Braves only hit, a double to lead off the top of the eighth helping the Braves to save face. But there would have been no face saved if Blanco would have succeeded in his 'chicken sh**' attempt.
