Two days ago, in the seventh inning, Greogor Blanco of the Atlanta Braves tried to break up Los Angeles Dodgers' pitcher Huroki Kuroda's perfect game with a bunt, but failed, being thrown out at first base by a step. It would have been a chicken sh** way to break up a n0-hitter (perfect game), according to former Arizona Diamondbacks manager Bob Brenly.
Maybe Blanco read the ShotsHeard article that took a critical view of him. Nah. More likely his teammates let him know how lucky he was that he didn't break one of the unwritten baseball rules. They probably told him how lucky he was not to be part of a controversy on Sports Center. Maybe they told him the next Dodger pitcher that he faced would have drilled him in the head had he succeed in breaking up a perfect game with a bunt.
Last night, Huroki Kuroda led off the seventh inning against Derek Lowe, who was throwing a perfect game. This time Blanco did not bunt. This time he was successful in breaking up the perfect game, with a clean single to center.

Either way the rookie, Blanco seems to have wised up. He realized he is playing in the major league, not some bush league.
