Jay-Z: 'Blow(s) The Whistle' on Deshawn 'the pawn' Stevenson

If you read the ShotsHeard blog entry, 'The Washington Buzzards (Wizards): No roadkill to pick at come playoff time', then you know that I shot down the antics of mediocre players like Deshawn Stevenson and Brendan Haywood.

Following a game in which Haywood flagrantly fouled James, Haywood openly mocked James in for being a 'baby'. Admittedly he did a good impression. As good as it was, it came from a man who is nothing but an afterthought.

But Stevenson's posturing when down 16, calling LBJ over-rated and then clotheslining LBJ inspired his buddy Jay-Z to cut a track, 'Blow The Whistle', which was played in a D.C. nightclub. Memorable smack includes:
  • When you('re) talking to a Don, have respect like you're talking to your mom.
  • We let the money do the talking. As you can see we talk very often.
  • Hatin's only gonna make him spend the night with a chick that you've been datin.
  • Don't compare me to nobody. I'd rather not be mentioned. I'm offended unless you're talkin' Sinatra, James Dean or John Lennon or Jimmy Hendrix.
  • We ain't even in the same league. You can lie to yourself but you can't lie to me.
  • I don't know what you're all on, just know the difference between a king and a pawn!
Deshawn got powned 100 times worse than you're standard posterization. In chess and here, the king takes out the pawn when he has to.
