Jackie Chan death hoax hits Twitter again

Jackie Chan death hoax hits Twitter again Jackie Chan appears to be alive and well, despite a second Internet death hoax surrounding the famous martial arts movie star.

Chan-or his representatives-had to post on his Facebook wall in March that he hadn’t, in fact, died of a heart attack as had been reported on Twitter. Rumors of his demise rekindled Tuesday night after someone made an “RIP Jackie Chan” Facebook page. The page has more than 67,000 followers, and Twitter has been buzzing again.

Chan’s Facebook profile and Twitter account were last updated Tuesday. There’s been no official answer to this second round of rumors, but there’s also been no indication from Chan’s official Web site, Twitter account or Facebook page that he has passed on.

(I’m thinking they’d be the first to know.) Really? Is August such a dull month that we had to have an Internet death hoax sequel? At least make it entertaining. I, for one, would welcome a fake Steve Jobs response to the very curt (and also fake) Sean Connery letter that popped up a couple months ago turning down the chance to appear in Apple commercials.
