Statement Analysis: Celina Cass Murder Investigation
In Statement Analysis, we do not make conclusions on just one sensitivity indicator. For the past 2 days, we have highlighted Wendell Noyes, step father's statement that the "family is grieving" as an indication that he has knowledge or belief that Celina was deceased. We have a few other statements from him to add to this one indication that something is wrong.
http://www.wptz.com/video/28728940/detail.html It is a shame wptz did not play the entire video, though the reporter clearly attempted to get him to speak.
1. When asked if he slept last night he said that he did.
2. When asked how the mom was, he said "fine."
It is difficult to think that a mother of a missing 11 year old is "fine" while not knowing where her child is. We must remind ourselves that it is Noyes who said this; not the mother.
The statement that the "family is grieving" given before the child's body was found showed a knowledge or belief that Celina was deceased. Celina's body was found the next day. Another concerning statement:
"Get your butt home" is a slight denigration or insult, which places blames the victim. When we analyze domestic homicide 911 calls, we look for any blame or denigration (insult) of the victim as an indication that the caller may be the killer. Although this was not a 911 call, the principle remains the same.
Media reports thus far:
--criminal background
--acute mental health issues; found "unable" to stand trial by a judge
--Step father's brother and uncle may be sex offenders (not verified as of yet)
--Concerning Facebook page including "girls" interest though pictures of women; focus on sex
Wendell Noyes (step father) was brought to the hospital for evaluation for 'bizarre behavior'
which may indicate a reaction to the location of searches, the uptick in pressure, guilt, etc.
As more quotes become available, we will analyze....
